Getting on a jetplane

Off to Amsterdam tonight. Who would have thought that a year ago I'd be flying to Amsterdam for job interviews?

Well, it is happening. I'm pretty excited - I really just want to get there and get things decided.

This can open up a whole new chapter in our lives. I've always said that I want to "Live Life", well I guess this is my chance. Sell the house, sell the stuff inside it, pack up the cats and take off.

I'll let you know how things pan out. Keep your fingers crossed.

And yes, you can come visit whenever you want.

Flat out

Another year - another injury. Yep my streak has ended, the old back has reared its ugly head.

It all started with an innocent fall down the stairs and ended angrily with a vicious sneeze. A sneeze and now I'm out on my stomach in rehab land.

Hopefully I'll be off my bike seat for only one week. That is if the drugs kick in and my physiotherapist and massage therapist can work their magic. I love magic.

So since I have some time on my hands it only makes sense to work on "The Big 3". Making it to Paris is a bit difficult but I can work diligently on the other two.

I tried to work on my book but the Internet has failed me. I'm looking for a year in review article/news thingy for 2005. Oh sure I've found a few but I'm not really interested in the most popular articles on OnJava.com for 2005. I was hoping for a Canadian hit but I guess I'll have to settle for CNN.

Not much else shaking down. I'm currently reading or perhaps skimming is a better term, a book about meditation. I don't have much patience for the details behind it - I just want to know how to do it so I can start relaxing.

Well, I better jet. Have a big day tomorrow in more ways than one.

The Big 3

In honor of the new year, I have resolved to make some resolutions. So with much ado about nothing, here they are:

to work on my book at least once a week (this does not include thinking about working on it)

to update my blog more regularly (once a week would be admirable)

to travel to Europe (preferably Paris but at this point I'll settle for anywhere in the EU)
