Today was a big day. It was my first day off in a long time. I'm one of those bike racers who doesn't like to take a day off. But today it was scheduled in. So I followed along. Because after all, if I'm anything, I'm a rule follower.
I do have to say, I enjoyed my day off. I didn't do anything truly exciting. Rather just took my time and chilled out. Went to Aarschott and wandered around. Snapped a few pictures for you:
A very nice bakery. I picked up a loaf of bread with raisins and walnuts - very tasty.
Window displays from a very nice confectionery/chocolate shop:
This is a very tempting seafood store... The paella looks amazing:
Teenagers out skating. This makeshift skating rink is in the center of town and is installed for the Kerstmarkt:
In the afternoon I drove in the opposite direction and visited Geel. Discovered an amazing health food store and then chillaxed in a cafe with a decaf cappuccino and my latest digital book - the latest John Irving novel. I'm only a few pages in, but so far, I'm really enjoying it.
Now it is time to get off the computer and watch some races. On deck, Overijse and then Kalmthout. A most excellent way to wind down on this fine day off. (Looking forward to getting out and riding at Kasterlee tomorrow!)
