These were the most popular questions I was asked today during my pre-ride session:
Where is your Dad?
How is your Dad?
Boy oh boy did I ever feel badly that my Dad is not here on this trip... But everyone agreed that my parents should come to Belgium for the World Championships! Dad, you are lucky because Christine brought you a massive jar of specculous and some specculous cookies!
The pre-riding at the Plzen World Cup course went well today. I stuck to my plan and got the type of ride in that I wanted. It was good to chat with folks and to see so many friendly faces. I have to say having Ignace here makes a big difference for me - he is taking care of my bikes - cleaning them, making sure they work and he is even going to the manager's meeting and picking up my numbers for me - this allows me to relax and just hang out at the hotel, rather than spending so much time down at the course.
It will be a quiet night here tonight - eating at the hotel and likely I'll watch some videos on my computer.
I'm feeling good. I'm not over confident but I'm content with the course and what I need to do to have a good ride. I didn't take any photos today but after my race I'll stay to watch the men's race and I'll take some photos for you.
I started reading a new book: In the Kitchen by Monica Ali - so far so good. And this is what I'm going to do now - get off the computer and read for a bit. Thanks for the kinds words and all of the support. If you see Marc while I'm gone - give him a hug and a kiss for me!
